Effikal brand vent dampers are included as original equipment on many
gas boilers used for home heating. Some Effikal brand vent dampers manufactured between July 1, 2007 and March 1, 2008 have developed
cracks on the plastic ears connecting the motor assembly to the mounting bracket. If both ears break, the motor assembly could disconnect from
the bracket.

Please answer the following questions in order. If you are unable to determine whether or not you are subject to the recall, please contact your HVAC service contractor immediately.

1) Do you have a GAS Boiler manufactured by one of the
following companies?

2) Does the boiler include a gas vent damper with a black plastic cap and base? (It should be located on top of the boiler connected to the vent pipe.)

3) What is the serial number located on the black cap?

Please write Serial # here ______________

4) Is the serial number from Question 3 within the range
defined in the table?

• Reference the table in question 1 for serial number
by manufacturer.

5) Based on the above, if you have a vent damper within the serial number range, contact your HVAC service contractor.

• Provide the contractor with the webpage www.effikal.com/recall
• Provide the contractor with the following replacement information

1. Part: #70009000
2. Model: RMA-AL
3. Description: Replacement Motor Assembly (Aluminum Base)
4. Inform the HVAC service contractor to contact their wholesale distributor for the unit and the replacement program details.

6) Schedule a “NO CHARGE” replacement of the affected gas vent damper motor assembly with your HVAC service contractor.
